Open My Data on the left rail. My Data is part of the paid plans.

My wells

Near the top of My Data, the row My wells: correct a well’s data, or add your own holds the wells you and your team have corrected or added. Once you have some, it counts them. Click Open to list them, add a well, import scout tickets or a table of wells, or export them. See My Wells.

Formation tops

The next row, Formation tops: your picks and your formations, holds the tops you and your team have picked, and your list of formations: the names and colours your tops show by. Click Open. See Formation tops.

Upload a file

Drop files anywhere on the drawer, or click Drop files in the drop card to choose them. You can drop a whole folder. QuickScout reads the file in your browser. Accepted: Shapefile (.zip, or .shp with its sidecar files), GeoJSON (including newline-delimited), TopoJSON, KML/KMZ, GeoPackage, FlatGeobuf, GML, GPX, MapInfo (.tab/.mif), DXF, DWG, SQLite, and spreadsheets (CSV, TSV, TXT, XLSX, ODS). Not yet accepted: file geodatabases (.gdb), old Excel (.xls), Access (.mdb) and GeoParquet.

Place it on the map

Each file gets a card. Under PLACED FROM, the card shows how QuickScout located the rows. A spatial file uses Geometry in the file. A spreadsheet can be placed several ways, so pick one:

• Lat/long columns. If the values look swapped, the card says so.
• A WKT column.
• An API number column, as well surface holes or as wellbore paths.

Choose which columns to keep under COLUMNS KEPT, then click Done. The card then shows ON MAP, or NOTHING PLACED if no rows could be located. If only some rows couldn’t be placed, the card says how many matched no well or have no coordinates, and Review lists them.

Draw on the map

Click draw on the map in the drop card. Choose Point, Line or Area, draw it, then save it to A new layer or an existing one.

• Point keeps dropping points until you click Point again.
• Undo last takes off the last thing you drew, and Clear takes off all of it.
• Nothing is saved until you press Save.

Work with a layer

Each layer in the list has a swatch for its colour, On map to show or hide it, and a handle to drag it up or down, which changes which layer draws on top. With the handle selected, Alt ↑ and Alt ↓ move it too. Click a layer to open its options under it: Solid or By attribute colours, FILL for an area, Zoom to, and Attributes, which opens the layer in full. There, its Attributes, Style and Source tabs show its rows, change how it’s drawn, and tell where it came from. Manage library →, at the bottom of My Data, opens the full library. Each row has View and Zoom to, and its More has Export GeoJSON, Export CSV and Delete. Tick rows to give them one colour (Set color), export them, or delete them together.
