Create a project

1

Start

Click New project on the welcome screen, the + next to PROJECTS in the rail, or +Project in the top bar.
2

Details

Enter a Project name (for example, Midland 2026 Deal), an optional Description, and an Accent color. Click Continue.
3

Scope

Choose what the project covers:
  • Areas: draw areas on the map, or add counties, basins or districts.
  • Operators: the operators you’re tracking.
  • Leases: a list of leases.
A project covers operators or leases, not both. Areas can be added to either.

Build my brief

QuickScout scans recent activity in your scope and writes your first daily brief. When it’s ready, the project opens.
You can also start a project from the map: tick leases in the Leases table and choose New project from these.

Switch projects

Use the project selector at the left of the scope strip, the PROJECTS list in the rail, or Ctrl 0 to go back to the picker. On the welcome screen, press P to pin a project to the top. On the Manage projects page, Assign Ctrl+Shift+N gives a project a keyboard shortcut.

Edit a project

Open the project selector and choose Edit project, or click Manage coverage on the scope strip. You can:
  • Change the Name, Description and COLOUR.
  • Add or remove areas, operators and leases under WHAT THIS PROJECT COVERS.
  • Turn on Show only this project’s wells to hide every other well on the map.

Share with your team

In Edit project, tick Share with ‹your organization›. Everyone in your organization can then open it. Only the project’s owner and organization admins see this option. People you share with may have read-only access. They’ll see You have read-only access to this project.

Delete a project

On Manage projects, click Delete project. If it’s the project you have open, you’ll be asked which project to switch to.
