Open Areas in the rail. Your areas are listed on the left and drawn on the map on the right. Areas save automatically.

Draw an area

1

Choose Draw an area

It’s in the toolbar above the map.
2

Click around your acreage

Click to add each corner. Double-click, or click the first point again, to finish.
3

Name it

Use Edit name & description on the area’s row.
Other ways to add an area:
  • Add the current map view as an area saves exactly what’s on screen.
  • Add opens the library: pick Counties, Basins or Districts, or drop a file on File. Files can be GeoJSON, GeoPackage, KML, FlatGeobuf, or a Shapefile (.zip, or .shp with its sidecar files).

Edit or delete

  • Select an area, then Edit shape and drag its corners.
  • Zoom to area frames it on the map.
  • Delete area (or Delete the selected area in the toolbar) removes it.
Only project editors can add, edit or delete areas.

What areas do

  • The daily brief reports activity inside your areas.
  • Alerts watch your areas.
  • Areas count toward the project’s scope alongside its operators or leases.
