# Wells, leases, operators & fields

> What opens when you click something on the map, and what's in each record.

Click a feature on the map, or a search result, to open its record in a drawer on the left. Use the back and forward arrows in the search box (<kbd>⌘</kbd> <kbd>\[</kbd> and <kbd>⌘</kbd> <kbd>]</kbd>) to move between records you've opened.

## Wells

Click a well, permit or completion.

* **Tabs**: **Wellbore**, **Tests**, **Frac**, plus whatever the RRC has on record for that well, such as **Completion**, **Details**, **Permits**, **Production** and **Lease**.
* **Report**: opens a printable [well report](/tools/well-report) in a new tab.
* **Builder**: opens the well in the [Wellbore Builder](/tools/wellbore-builder).
* **N files**: shows the regulatory documents on file for the well, when there are any.

## Leases

Click a lease footprint or a production spike, or open a lease from a well.

* **Tabs**: **Overview** (production and valuation), **Wells**, **Owners**.
* **Claim Your Interest**: if you own an interest in the lease, add it to your [Owner Portal](/owners/overview).

<Note>
  Per-well oil on a lease is an **estimate**. The RRC reports oil by lease, so QuickScout allocates it across the lease's wells.
</Note>

## Operators

Open an operator from a well popup, a search result, or **Operators** on the left rail.

* **Tabs**: **Overview**, **Leases**, **Wells**, **Deals**.
* **Show on map** puts the operator's leasehold and wells on the map. Once on, toggle **Leasehold** and **Wells** separately.
* **Filter by County** narrows the record to the counties you pick.

## Fields

Open a field from a well popup, a search result, a producing zone, or **Fields** on the left rail.

* **Tabs**: **Overview**, **Operators**, **Wells**.

## Heatmap cells

Click a hexagon on any heatmap to see the **Wells** (or **Leases**) inside it and its **Aggregates**.

## Compare wells

Hold <kbd>Shift</kbd> and drag a box on the map to compare the wells inside it, up to 1,000. Press <kbd>Esc</kbd> to cancel.
