# Charts

> Chart the rows in your table, then select from the chart.

Click **Charts** at the top right of the data tables.

## Build a chart

1. Pick a **Chart** type: **Scatter**, **Histogram**, **Bar by category**, **Box by category**, or **12-month production trend** (Leases only).
2. Choose the axes, or the group and measure. Optionally, pick **Colour by** and an **Aggregate** (median, average, sum or count).
3. Turn on **Log Y** for wide ranges, or **Selection only** to chart just your ticked rows.

**Recipes** are ready-made charts, like *Lateral × cum oil*, *Cum oil by operator* and *TD distribution* on Wells.

## Select from the chart

* On a scatter, **drag** to select points, or click a point to open that row.
* On a bar chart, click a bar to select its rows.

Selections from a chart work like ticked rows. You can **Show N on map** or export them. A chart selects at most 10,000 rows; narrow the view first if more match.

**Hide the chart** closes it.
